International Day of Women and Girls in Science: MarÃa Jesús RodrÃguez-Triana
11th of February is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Who is MarÃa Jesús RodrÃguez-Triana and how is she engaged with research?
Maria Jesús RodrÃguez-Triana is an Associate Professor in Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining in the School of Digital Technologies. At the moment she is involved in the project at Tallinn University, and collaborates with EPFL in the framework of the and GO-GA European projects, as well as with the University of Valladolid in the context of the project.
What makes you happy as a researcher?
The possibility of devoting time to satisfy my curiosity, the richness of collaborating with people from different backgrounds, and the pleasure of witnessing that our work can help teachers and students in their practices.
What are the biggest barriers in science?
As a community, getting funding for research lines that do not translate directly into financially profitable results (e.g., research in social sciences). As individuals, finding life balance.
Where is the science heading?
Hopefully, towards transdisciplinarity practices, involving not only several disciplines but also stakeholders.
