Graduation Ceremonies 2024
The graduation ceremonies of Tallinn University will take place on 14–20 June, in the courtyard of the university. The graduation ceremony of Haapsalu College will take place on 14 June in the Haapsalu Culture Centre at 5.

All ceremonies are broadcast live via the university's website and . The festivities can also be viewed on the tv screens inside the university building.
Most graduation ceremonies last 1,5 hours with the exception of Master's study programme ceremonies which last up to an hour.
All graduation ceremonies begin with the entrance of the Rector of Tallinn University or the Director of the School, followed by the academic staff and graduates. All ceremonies end with the student anthem "Gaudeamus".
During the graduations week, Tallinn University merch can be bought in the courtyard.

Information for the graduate
Dear graduate!
NB! Graduation ceremonies take place outside regardless of the weather. An under-roof area in front of the Nova building has been prepared for the graduates.
Congratulations on an important achievement! In order for the event to run smoothly, please familiarize yourself with the organization of the ceremony.
Graduation ceremonies take place in front of the Nova building, Narva mnt 27. Graduates and lecturers sit in front of Nova, in a covered area and guests in the courtyard square. At least 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony, we gather in front of the Vita building. In case of rainy weather, in the lobby of the Vita building. There you will be greeted by the institute's representative, who will give you instructions for lining up and storing your personal belongings (room V102) during the ceremony. The words of the student anthem "Gaudeamus" are displayed on the screen.
Handing over diplomas of bachelor's studies
- Graduates walk in line to the designated graduate area in front of Nova, find a seat and stand in front of it.
- Ceremony begins with the anthem of the Republic of Estonia.
- Ceremony will be led by ceremony host.
- The ceremony host says the name of the graduate, who goes to the director of the institute and receives a graduation diploma.
- A flower is handed to the graduate.
- The graduate gives a signature.
- The graduate heads back to their seat.
Handing over diplomas of master's studies
- Graduates walk in line to the designated graduate area in front of Nova, find a seat and stand in front of it.
- Ceremony begins with the anthem of the Republic of Estonia.
- Ceremony will be lead by ceremony host.
- The ceremony host says the name of the graduate, who goes to the director of the institute and receives a graduation diploma.
- The graduate is congratulated by the director of the academic unit.
- A flower is handed to the graduate.
- The graduate will sign.
- The graduate heads back to their seat.
End of the ceremony and taking pictures
- The ceremony ends with the student anthem "Gaudeamus", the words are displayed on the screen.

After singing "Gaudeamus", the graduates take their seats.
- The ceremony host thanks the participants and invites the graduates to the Nova stairs for a photo session (graduates of each study program separately). When the picture is taken, the graduates move to the yard to receive congratulations and the next group of graduates is called.

Dear family members and friends of the graduates!
We are waiting for you to congratulate your loved ones at the graduation ceremony of Tallinn University.
Graduation ceremonies take place in front of the Nova building in any weather, at Narva mnt 27. Graduates and lecturers sit in front of Nova, in a covered area. Guests in the courtyard square. The number of seats in the courtyard is limited, so be prepared to stand.
PS! There is no roof in the courtyard, so please dress according to the weather and bring an umbrella.
All graduation ceremonies will be broadcast live, which can be watched on our external website and on the YouTube channel of Tallinn University. In addition, the broadcast can be seen on campus TVs.
The duration of the ceremony is approximately 1.5 hours. Master's programmes one hour.
The ceremony begins with the entrance of the rector or director, teaching staff and graduates and ends with the student anthem "Gaudeamus". Stand up during entry. Congratulating the graduates will take place after the ceremony in the courtyard.
