Summary of the presentation:

Anna Akhmatova’s works reflected several eras of the tragic twentieth century. Her creative method, later called ‘semantic poetics’, consisted in understanding the poetic word as a ‘bundle of meanings’, and the entire corpus of her own works as a single text included in the world poetic text. She combined lyrics, drama and epos, verses and prose, tragic and comic, ancient and modern, East and West, national and global, culture and everyday life, written and oral styles, etc. The functioning of historical and cultural subtexts in the poetic text will be analyzed.

The discussant of the presentation is prof. em. Irina Belobrovtseva. The seminar takes place in room A-447 or in Zoom:

The seminar is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through an ASTRA measure project "TLU TEE or Tallinn University as the promoter of intelligent lifestyle" (no 2014-2020.4.01.16-0033).
