Innovative Practices in Estonian Teacher Education
This lecture focuses on the innovative practices in Estonian teacher education, which result from a major paradigm shift. Teacher education in Estonia emphasizes developing adaptive and creative professionals. New teachers benefit from an induction period to ease their transition, while lifelong learning and continuous professional development are prioritized.
Success is closely linked to a collaborative school culture and strong partnerships between universities and schools. These partnerships enhance practical training, promote research-based practices, and support the integration of new technologies. Digital tools and virtual environments play a key role in enhancing teaching methods and student engagement.
