Introduction

Professor of biopolymer chemistry. Has been studying the chemical composition of marine algae for over 20 years, completed both a master鈥檚 and doctoral degree on this topic at Tallinn University, and conducted postdoctoral research in Japan.

His main research areas include elucidating the relationship between the chemical composition and properties of gelling polysaccharides found in red and brown algae, as well as adding value to biomasses derived from marine organisms. he has also investigated bioactive compounds from plant-based and mycological materials.

Rando Tuvikene has collaborated with researchers from Japan, China, Canada, Denmark, Norway, France, Greece, and Argentina.
