Introduction
Professor Katrin Niglas, Vice-Rector for Research at Tallinn University, earned her teaching qualification and MSc from Tallinn Pedagogical University and a Master鈥檚 in Education from the University of Cambridge. Based on research begun at Cambridge, she defended her PhD in 2004 with the thesis 鈥淭he combined use of qualitative and quantitative methods in educational research.鈥 Her research focuses on the integration of qualitative and quantitative methods and key issues in education. She has contributed to international research projects as an expert in methodology and data analysis and has published over 40 academic papers. Niglas began her academic career in 1994 at Tallinn Pedagogical University and has since held several leadership roles. Since 2011, she has served as Vice-Rector for Research at Tallinn University. She is an active member of the international research community, serving on editorial boards and participating in science policy development.
