Introduction

Mikk Kasesalk holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from Tallinn University and began his doctoral studies in Educational Sciences in 2020. Since 2008, he has held various positions at Tallinn University, including Head of the Rector鈥檚 Office and Director of the Confucius Institute. From 2018 to 2019, Kasesalk served as Deputy Secretary General at the Ministry of Education and Research, where he was responsible for general education, youth policy, and the school network. Between 2019 and 2021, he worked as Director of Strategic Development at Tallinn University, and since 2021, he has served as the university鈥檚 Strategy Manager, overseeing the planning and strategic management of the university's development. Mikk Kasesalk is an active observer of higher education policy and contributes to shaping Tallinn University鈥檚 positions on education and research policy issues.

Main tasks

Development of evidence-based management, including the creation of decision-making tools and leading their implementation

Leading the preparation and use of university management information and reporting

Development of information and cyber security

Management of the Strategy Office and coordination of the work of the IT Department, the Confucius Institute, and the NGO Tallinn Sports Club
