Introduction
Katrin Saks graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in journalism and has furthered her education in international relations and diplomacy at the Estonian School of Diplomacy. She worked at Estonian Television for nearly 20 years as a journalist, host, editor, program director, and board member. In 1998–1999, she taught at Concordia International University. From 1999 to 2010, she was active in politics - as minister, member of the Riigikogu, MEP, and deputy chair of Tallinn City Council. From 2011 to 2020, she was director of the Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School. Since 2021, she has been Vice-Rector for Development at Tallinn University. Saks is dedicated to creative industries, education, and civic thought, fostering cooperation with the culture and media sectors and contributing to Estonia’s value-based development. She also teaches media literacy.
