Introduction
Lucya Passiatore is a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies, focusing on Anthropology. She completed her MA in Social Anthropology at Tallinn University, where her master's thesis explored an eco-acoustic ethnography of the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem. Her research analyzed the cultural value of sound within the community and the impact of climate change on local soundscapes.
For her doctoral dissertation, Lucya investigates the effects of climate change on place identity, known as campanilismo, and cultural practices in the Salento Peninsula, Southern Italy. Her research takes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating anthropology and climatology to develop a comprehensive understanding of these dynamics. Lucya uses a mixed-method approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative analysis to address the research questions.
