Tallinn University Scholarship Recognising Civic Participation
The purpose of Tallinn University Scholarship Recognizing Civic Participation is to support and facilitate degree studies of students who have contributed to the development of civil society and/or the promotion of Tallinn University's student life through voluntary work. The rate of the scholarship is 200 € per month.
Students shall have the right to apply for the scholarship twice during the academic year and for 5 months at a time. The signed application form shall be submitted no later than 15 January to the Academic Affairs Office at stipendium@tlu.ee. It is not possible to submit the application after the deadline (23:59). The application in due form shall be accompanied by CV in due form which shall include, among other data, an overview of the factual information (place, time, role) of contributing to the development of civil society and/or the promotion of student life in Tallinn University and a letter of motivation in due form. NB! Application sent by email must be digitally signed (not scanned).
Applications for autumn semester shall be submitted no later than 15 September.
Tallinn University students on their first or second level of studies may apply for the scholarship provided they:
- are citizens of Estonia or residing in Estonia on the basis of a long-term or temporary residence permit or permanent or temporary right of residence, or staying in Estonia on the basis of a visa, or visa-free in the cases where a treaty for visa-free travel has been established or in the case of waiver of the visa requirements and have applied for temporary residence permit for studies;
- have performed voluntary work within the last three years or have contributed to the development of civil society and continue with similar activities at the time of application;
- have not exceeded their nominal period of studies;
- are not on academic leave at the time of submitting the application;
- are not offering/have not offered services to TLU Student Union on the basis of a contract under the law of obligations within a year prior to application for the scholarship.
The number of scholarships will be determined for each semester, in the spring semester 2025 around 20 scholarships will be granted. A scholarship committee will rank the students and announce the winners by Feb 10 or Oct 10 accordingly. The scholarship of 200 € for five months will be paid at the end of each month, except for the September's scholarship which is paid in October. Altogether, it is possible to receive the scholarship for the number of calendar months corresponding to the nominal duration of the curriculum.
