New visiting professor - Professor Michael Guo-Brennan from Troy University
The new visiting professor at the School of Governance, Law and Society is Professor Michael Guo-Brennan from Troy University.

Michael Guo-Brennan has arrived in Estonia through the Fulbright Program, funded by the U.S. government. During the spring semester of 2024/25 academic year, he will be teaching and conducting research at Tallinn University.
Professor Guo-Brennan specializes in migration studies. His research aims to develop a better understanding of the challenges and needs associated with immigration, contributing to the creation of competent and inclusive communities. This is particularly important in the Estonian context, given the large number of Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the country.
As Estonia is considered one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world, it offers Michael Guo-Brennan an excellent opportunity to study the impact of digital communications and the role of digital governance in immigration and integration. This includes examining how these systems function in connecting people with governmental and non-governmental organizations. His research provides a unique opportunity to explore the influence of digital communications and digital service coordination on immigration and integration. Furthermore, his research includes education policy and he hopes to work with educators to learn about the primary and secondary education systems in Estonia.
Michael Guo-Brennan can be contacted at mbrennan@tlu.ee, and he welcomes inquiries related to migration studies, education policy or community engagement and social cohesion. Furthermore, he is looking for students who would be able to help with translation between English and Estonian, Russian and Ukrainan.
We are happy to welcome Professor Michael Guo-Brennan at Tallinn University School of Governance, Law and Society.
